About Jacqueline

Jacqueline is a senior communication arts major with a passion for people's stories and for fashion. She hopes to pursue a career in public relations or professional writing.




Jacqueline's Artist Statement:

Writers block is every writer's worst nightmare. Nothing is worse than losing the one idea that sets your creative vision apart from others. After having survived this mental battle several times through out my college career as a communication arts student, it dawned on me one Saturday morning that the best story to share with others is one which testifies to the challenges that are often overlooked due to the busy schedules of day to day life.  Everyday a New York Times "Best Seller" walks past us as pedestrians with untold stories moving seamlessly undetected in the radars of major publishing companies. These anonymous heroes and fighters must have their stories told, not so that they can one day claim a page in a Social Studies textbook, but to reveal resilience in its most compelling form: the human spirit. 

It is my hope that my series based on the stories told of survivors in the Cuban Revolution and the Iranian Crisis will share their experience with others in ways which transcend the possibilities that are created by their perseverance and their personal experiences.
